2. Who will be providing my care? (back to top)
All evaluations are performed by a licensed physical therapist. When you are assigned to a specific physical therapist, you will remain with that therapist throughout the course of your treatment. Your therapist will also have an assistant that will assist him/her in your care.

3. Will my insurance pay for aquatic therapy? (back to top)
YES. It is physical therapy done in the water.

4. Do I need to know how to swim in order to participate in aquatic therapy? (back to top)
NO. Aquatic therapy is performed vertically in chest-deep water.

5. Do I need a prescription to attend land or aquatic therapy? (back to top)
It depends if you want us to bill your insurance carrier for your treatments or not.
If you do, we accept prescriptions from MD’s, Osteopaths, Podiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians Assistants.
If you will pay out of pocket, or do not have insurance coverage: We do not need a prescription. NY State law allows you to seek the services of a PT for 10 treatments or 30 days (whichever comes first).

6. What type of treatment will I receive? (back to top)
Treatment is initially based on the evaluation findings. Changes in the treatment plan can be made on a daily basis or at periodic re-evaluations. Treatment may consist of hands-on techniques, exercises programs (land, aquatics, or both), and modalities to help relieve pain or inflammation. Home exercises may be incorporated to further speed recovery.

7. How long will each session last? (back to top)
The first session will last approximately 45 min. to one hour while future treatment sessions are 1/2 to 1 hour in length.

8. How can I make an appointment? (back to top)
Give us a call at 315-468-1050 (Camillus location) or 452-5580 (North Syracuse Office) and our office staff will be happy to set you up with an appointment.

9. Can I choose which physical therapist I go to? (back to top)
YES! It is your legal right to choose the therapist or facility you want to treat your condition. If you have a preference, you should let your health care provider know.
